It’d tempt me if I were shopping then. Our school has an exchange program and the lead German teacher showed me some of his B5 S4 photos. He purchased one new and has had it ever since. He’s a super unassuming guy but it looks like he has an amazing time with it. Travel/track days/Nurburgring. He just says you have to be “savagely proactive” on the maintenance.

That’s probably the best way of describing how to maintain one of these cars I’ve ever heard.

When I had my dose of 2.7t in my life, it wasn’t that it would break; it’s that wear items were expensive to fix.

Full exhaust with down pipes and test pipes. Front mount inter cooler. High pressure fuel pump. Custom tune. Race engine, tranny, and diff mounts. I think that’s it. Guessing it's close to 350 whp.

I think I’m all in still under $7000 in the 4 years I’ve owned mine. I’d say 10k is a generous budget.
